Mission Statement

Ebony Essence School of Hair Design was constructed with the needs of others in mind.  This school was developed in order to reach back to all communities to share a chance for all individuals from diverse backgrounds to earn a promising career with longevity and endless possibilities.

Ebony Essence is not just a school but a place where your career starts through education, motivation and mentoring by some of the best instructors.  The motto of this school stands above the rest: to educate, motivate, mentor, and create hair stylist that are professional and seek to meet the needs of their clients through creating healthy hairstyles and confidence in their look.

Ebony Essence School of Hair Design is a unique opportunity for all students because its focuses on community, mentoring and giving back to students who have the desire to serve their communities by building positive business opportunities and relationships with other hair salons and community businesses.


About the Owner
 

Cassandra Wilson, Owner of Ebony Essence School of Hair Design, completed her Cosmetology Operators License at Houston Community College, in Houston, Texas in 1998.  In 2007, she completed the Instructors Operators License.  In 2018, she completed the Class A Barbers License and Class A Barbers Instructors License.  She is a certified Master Stylist.

Cassandra Wilson began her career as a licensed hair stylist at Mrs. T’s Beauty Salon in Houston, Texas.  In 1999, she later journeyed to Bryan, Texas, where she joined Creative Hair Design salon as a stylist.  In 2001, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she joined the Class Act Beauty salon team as a stylist.  In 2002, Cassandra Wilson return to her community and joined Raata’s Hair Design as a stylist.

In 2003, Cassandra Wilson opened “Ebony Essence Hair Design,” in Bryan, Texas.  The name of the salon derived from her kids.  She serviced the Bryan, Texas community until she married her husband Vernell Wilson on May 12, 2014, and moved to Caldwell, Texas, with her four children.  Her roots have been grounded in Burleson County since her move.  She has been making moves to bring jobs and opportunities to this area.  Cassandra opened Ebony Essence Hair Design in Caldwell, Texas in 2016.  She continued following her dreams to build a school and broke ground in January 2018, where her dreams became a reality.  Her school was completely constructed and licensed for business on November 27, 2018.

Cassandra Wilson is a visionary who follows her dreams and makes them a reality through hard work, motivation, dedication, tenacity and her commitment to God.  Her hope is to assist other students in making their dreams become a reality.

About Ebony Essence


In 2003, Ebony Essence Hair Design salon was opened in Bryan, Texas, with three operating chairs.  The name of the salon was created by her five children which has been a synonymous logo for her businesses.

Ebony Essence quickly outgrew the first business and was re-opened on Texas Avenue in Bryan, Texas expanding the services offered to clients, the number of hair stylists and operating chairs.  Ebony Essence Hair Design took off by storm and has been in existence for more than fifteen years.

Ebony Essence Hair Design salon moved to Caldwell, Texas in 2014, and from this move the school was born, constructed and licensed on November 27, 2018, in Caldwell, Texas.  Ebony Essence Hair Design salon and school history are firmly rooted and grounded in the rich history of Burleson County, with a purpose of being a good community leader, with a desire to educate tomorrow’s business owners and leaders.

Ebony Essence School of Hair Design was officially opened on December 18, 2018, and the ribbon cutting ceremony was held on January 10, 2019. Since the inception of the school Wilson’s Soul Food Bistro was opened, and Ebony Hair Salon in Bryan, Texas.
